Planning a Mountain Wedding
Whew. Can you believe we are booking 2018 summer weddings already? Who knew that, when we were in the depths of the frigid winter chill here in PA, beneath the frozen tundra, there were the gorgeous flowers that are blooming here now and the lush greenery! It always puts a smile on my face to see the Earth bloom around me in the Spring, reminding me that Summer is fast approaching.
For me this year, summer means a few things, but 99.9% of it means WEDDING to me! I married my amazing husband, Josh, on June 14th at OVR’s GORGEOUS Fernstone Retreat. We had a wedding of about 325, and it has plenty of room, along with a waterfall, two fishing ponds, sleeps 35 guests, you get the picture. It’s amazing! Mountain Wedding - Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals
Planning a wedding here in the Laurel Highlands of PA is all about nature, for me. I knew, for my own wedding, that I wanted black tie, yet vintage and chic. For me, that means handmade bridesmaids dresses by my amazing seamstress mother, bowties for the groomsman and the gorgeous outdoor photo opportunities that you can only find in southwestern PA. During our wedding weekend, we had a lavish, regal ceremony and reception, followed by a weekend of fishing, hiking, staying up late roasting s’mores, drinking sangria and having the time of our LIFE with family. The magical thing about that is, it is ALL at the Fernstone Retreat. I am able to do ALL of those things, which are all so dear to my heart.
